Global Digital Compact : the road ahead
The Global Digital Compact (GDC), adopted by world leaders at the Summit of the Future, is a comprehensive framework for global governance of digital technology.
The AI Summit in Paris will be a pivotal moment for enhancing synergy between public and private sectors. Integrating human rights consideration into business development and operations is paramount, particularly in light of contemporary environmental and sustainability challenges.

Content of the session
This Townhall will explore the potential of the GDC and its implementation moving forward. The session will provide an introductory retrospective on the process, and to an overview of the GDC implementation roadmap and endorsement, as well as synergies in the context of the AI Summit in France. This engagement will promote interest from companies and SMEs in the GDC process and the upcoming Implementation Mapping by the Secretary-General.
The session will highlight the critical significance of collaborative action in implementing the GDC’s principles and commitments. An emphasis will be on the significance of multistakeholder contributions to digital cooperation and the endorsement to GDC.

Deliverables
The session aims at raising awareness around the Global Digital Compact and the follow ups to the Summit of the Future for French and European stakeholders.
It is also directed at increasing synergies between UNGC and UN ODET in mobilizing diverse private sector representatives around UN initiatives.
